Rustoleum has its own thinning agent for spraying. never exceed 10%

    Forget HVLP

    60 psi at the gun

warm the mix to 105 degrees in a pot of hot water on an electric mini grille.

2 wet coats will look a mile deep.

Check into the john deere paints, my first model A I shot with their blitz black, it's a flat black. I used their reducer and it took about 3 days to dry. The next time I tried their semi gloss on a chopped 71 chevy but this time I reduced with lacquer thinner @ 30% dried overnight laid down nice and is also a rust inhihibiter. For about 23 bucks a gallon

I only use Xylene when shooting rustoleum or tractor paint or anything similar. It dries faster than mineral spirits. never used lacquer thinner, didn't think it was compatable. rustoleum can be painted over with normal automotive paint. We bought a truck for my son and the front fenders were painted with rustoleum and the rest of the truck was shiney, we sanded it down and I layed on House of Kolor base coat black and then cleared it! looks as good as the rest.

alright heres what the back of the can says, and this is straight off the can. its rustoleum professional high performance metal primer.

    Painting:
stir thoroughly. Thinning not needed for brush or roller, if sprayed thin up to 15% with acetone. do not thin with gasoline, lacquer thinner, turpentine, etc. apply with a good quality brush, roller or spray gun.

im going to bite the bullet and give it a wirl on the inside of the cab. hopefully it works.

I am a fan of Rustoleum and i thin it with mineral spirits and works great when i shoot a frame. Have not used it on the body before but i have used something called "VAP". It is something they use in the oil field and it holds up pretty good and "IT's CHEAP"..... I'm a tightwad....
