I want to paint my fan. Will I have any problems with adhesion? I plan on hitting it with some self etching primer first, after I scuff it.

We painted the flex fan in my mother's Javelin and didn't have any adhesion problems - just spray bombed it silver with red tips, no special prep. The fan later flew apart, but it was old and I'm sure that wasn't related to painting it.

I painted the center of mine with no issues, but I didn't try to paint the fins. The center on mine is steel and was rusted. I just cleaned off the rust and spray painted it. Its lasted 2 years on my Mustang.

I spray bombed one in black and had no problem, but I don't like those things either. They move less air and make more noise than some of the factory fans.

Yea, go OG, those things are not the best fans. I had one on my nova and went to electric after that.

Not true. They do a very fine job of maiming and killing when they explode. Think they dont? Think again! I know a guy who lost an arm to one. Not fingers, an arm!!! **** those things!

Which one exploded D.W.? The flex, OG or electric? Which one are you referring to? I wasn't really sure by your post.
