Painting a frame with light surface rust.

    POR 15 seems to work well and flows out nicely--don't get it on you-it takes a while to get off! Kid got a 40 with a frame done in POR15. Wanted to redo and paint it. He used enough sand when blasting it off to make a beach !!! Tough stuff .
     
  2. That's exactly what we like to do. They make a weld threw self etch that we use that you can just about Tig over if you must.

    I don't know if it's wrong or right but I first had my 34 frame sand blasted and before it had time to flash-rust I trucked it home and blew a coat of acid etch primer on it. It's easy to grind off before welding and easy to use rattle-can acid etch primer over the repaired/welded areas...works for me.
