After 10 years since the rebuild, the paint could use a freshen-up. It was prepped and painted with the POR gloss black engine enamel. It would be easier if I could touch-up the block with a rattle can, as the paint that is on there is solid. Anyone ever done this and what did you use? What kind of prep? As far as I can tell, POR engine paint is just regular enamel, nothing like the POR 15 rust paint.

If it’s like the other POR Products scuff until all gloss is removed then wipe it down with POR Cleaner and Degreaser. If engine needs extra coat apply it before first coat is fully dry. I’ve used the POR Engine Paint and it adheres very well, brushes and smooths out nice and doesn’t seen to be affected by engine heat ar all. Your mileage may vary.

POR is a urethane not an enamel.
