painting steering wheel

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Hivolt5.0, Apr 28, 2011.

  1. So what type of paint do you use to paint a steering wheel?

My buddy has a '50 Ford F1 we've been working on and his original steering wheel is in great shape (no cracks) but it needs to be painted to restore it. Since it isn't metal I wasn't sure if there was a special process and/or paint we should we should use.

thanks in advance for your help

Epoxy primer and urethane paint on this one. I'm going to try appliance enamel on my next one.

Most paints will work, but i strongly recommend using a paint with a hardner added to it.
