Just thought I whould let everyone know the panhard bar and the 4 bar kit I just got from Speedway do not work together. The bracket for the panhard bar that bolts to the batwing was made to different "specs" than the batwing was. Also a different mfg. At least thats what the tech at Speedway told me. Also said that they were all like that. The problem is the batwing bars are 4.5'' hole spacing, and the panhard bracket the hole spacing is like 5.25'' His solution was to either drill a new hole on top and bolt it up, or bolt the bottom and weld the top to the batwing. When I tolt him the batwing was stainless steel and the panhard mount was cast steel and whould be hard to weld, his reply was a good welder could weld it up. Then when I asked why I should pay a welder when those parts are supposed to work with each other he said redrilling and bolting it up whould be fine, that there's not that much load on that mount and that I whould not be "Baja'ing it " Don't get me wrong I have been pleased with Speedway so far, just not with tech this time. I hope they get this manufacturing problem solved.
It is not uncommon for these holes to be different. Many different manufactures and many different spacing is used. Can you elongate each of the holes on the bracket enough to make the panhard bracket bolt to the 4 bar batwing?
Yea I thought of that too. I'll probably just make my own bracket. It just kind of bugs me, both parts were Mr. Roadster, not like I was trying to bolt up Peat&Jake parts to Speeway, or somthing like that. Thanks for the tip.
