Soooo, you don`t think I should start a thread of the flowered material I glued on my side trim on my car?

really like the striping very tasteful & complimentary. not sure any other colors would have worked nearly as well

  4. That looks fantastic. Congratulations! It's "just some lines" and it changes the car to a 100% Kustom.

Fuck me, I can't wait to stripe my 39. Well not like that, more typical with flurries and such in a few spots.

Panel stripes are actually meant to "own" the car and make a statement. Not a new idea and on the right car it fits. I can now think of 2 that fit near perfect lately (500 bonus puts to the 1st correct guess of the other one).

Are you meaning the McMullen 32 or the one at the Roadster show this year ? ( the later since you said lately) I love that mid 60’s look on the right car, can’t beat it to be period correct from that era… a red & white corvette, well I don’t get to excited about it

I'm not a good judge because I love panel striping almost by default, but now that I think about I don't think I've seen much of it on curvy cars. I think it looks great here.

I really like what it does to the rear quarters (reference photo in the post above), it breaks them up and now mimics the top spear leading into the front wheel well. Also with the way the doors are now more pronounced I'm seeing similarities to the 300SL that I never really saw before. For some reason it makes your car look thinner, almost sectioned.

There is also something cool about the imperfection of striping too...and when paired with the hard cut lines of the car itself, the imperfections are easier to see and it's just an interesting contrast. I can't explain it well, but maybe you know what I mean.

This photo is an example of what I'm trying to say:

Certainly no one will accuse you of being contented with things as they are. :)

Yes, the Swillco Deuce. That car drives a 4 penny finish nail with 2lb sledge. I don't know what you can get with the 500 bonus points tho, I guess it's the thought that counts;)

Scott Williams (swillco) and I belong to the same car club. Mike Iverson striped both cars. I went to high school with Mike

The "C" series of Corvettes did not actually start until the unveiling of the C5 in January 1997. The C5 series ran until 2004.

Correctly or not people started to refer to the cars from 1953 by C1 and so on to differentiate major changes. Prior to 1997 the term did not exist pertaining to Corvettes.

The C designations are modern terms. I hate modern stuff which is why I am here. There are 3 kinds of Corvettes as far as I am concerned.
    Solid axles (53-62)
    Mid years (63-67)
    Late models (68 and up)

68 and up Corvettes are the same basic car as the 63-67. Yup, believe it or not. Just the dash, interior and outer skin shape changed.

Er, I didn't think you bought groceries. That implies cooking something in the storage facility that's your kitchen.:D

I love the stripes! It add's to the car to my eye, I've been planning on getting my early A rpu striped, (I think they are a perfect candidate for panel stripes). & After seeing the Vette, wondering what we can do with our Ranch Wagon?...

Oh man.... I am all for it. get a roll of fineline tape and practice on your wagon, that is what we did on my corvette. And as much as I loved my corvette before, the panel stripes made it a hundred times cooler!!!
