With a heavy heart I wanted to let you guys know @paperdog lost his battle this morning with brain cancer.

In Minnesota Dan was a fixture at swap meets sometimes accompanied with his better half Nadine.. if you knew him you knew how quick witted and funny was… he always had me laughing. I’m gonna miss him dearly. When I was navigating a rough patch in my life over the past three years Dan was SO supportive of me and my girls…. And even well before that…. I always got the impression that Dan fought some tough battles in his life.. I feel like it’s a pre requisite to humor like Dan had. He didn’t want a traditional funeral, he wanted us to remember him by playing the music from a Charlie Brown Christmas and dancing around the tree.

    God Speed Dan.

I never knew the man, but the mere fact that he wanted you all to dance around the tree to Schroeder's bouncy piano speaks volumes! And I think I really like the guy. God bless.

    Well, just... nuts...
For some reason, I was thinking about Dan earlier today, wondering what shenanigans he was up to. :) .
Sigh... He was really good humor, looked for him at every Btt50s, made a point of saying "hi".
Met him thru the HAMB, then at a swap meet, where he gifted me some of the coolest knit kevlar gloves. Still have them.
    My condolences, Nadine.
    Peace.

  20. His choice of music at his passing tells us a lot about the man. R.I.P.

Dan would drop stuff off at my house for our girls… he would find a vintage pedal car at a sale or something I could use for a project for the girls and they would be there by the front step with a note on my phone.

he let us stay in his cabin free of charge west of Hinkley along with his pontoon so we could go fishing and just enjoy some family time together.

At swaps he would find stuff he knew I needed for my projects… the reason I have a sweet deuce grill on my RPU among other things..

Every Wednesday we would go to the local flea market and if there was anything remotely hot rod related there or tools he would text me to make sure I found them!

I would bump into him on morning runs while he was garage sailing with Nadine and would stop and chat and make sure we were doing OK… he legit gave a shit about everyone he knew.

on fb he constantly tagged me in stuff he thought I needed to know about or outlandishly funny stuff with chickens to show my girls…

he’s the only Dan Mueller I had in my life…. Seriously going to miss him.

Yup. Wife n I would always chit-chat w/Dan n Nadine at the Btt50s, commiserate over Troubles, discuss the good things, catch up on life, but always find something to laugh about before we parted. Didn't get to spend much time w/them other than there, but the time was always good.

    So sorry, fellas.

I must say... listening to the stories, I'm actually envious of those of you who knew him. I don't believe I've ever been so blessed as to have such a friend.

    Always loved that peanuts tune.
    Means more now, though.
