Parallel front leafs....help needed....BADLY

    here's something funny to ad, 45 gmc with parallel springs, king pin bushings totaly worn out, maybe 1 degree of caster, no shocks, lots of slop in the steering box, new tierod ends, egg shaped balls on drag link, drag link on a upward angle from steering box, 14" radials on alum. slots running 30psi, no shimmy, no bounch no shake.

    You don't feel the shimmy here because it shakes out all the loose joints before it ever gets to the steering wheel.


    On a Ford it is easy to see if the drag link is parallel to the locating bars, but the Chevy is more difficult. Stretch a string between the kingpin area of the axle (also probably about the center of the wheel) and the rear spring joint. Now, I'm not sure if it should be the top or bottom joint of the shackle, but you'll be close. Your drag link should be close to the same length as this string, and parallel when viewed from the side.
