FYI, I bought the car as someone else's nearly complete project. It's running and driving, just have to work bugs out.

Some are obvious target's that are not on (seemingly) when vehicle is off but I'd disable each one one by one and test after each disable. One other thing that may be giving you an issue if all those test's lead to nothing would be to disconnect the alternator. They sometimes love to full us by acting fine but take away everything as we walk away or sleep at night.

Sounds like the switched side of the panel is always on. It’s misfired somewhere on the source side of the panel. I’d start at the ignition switch wiring.

Switch your multi-meter to lowest amp setting and connect in in line on the positive post or main feed line and read amps in stead of volts. Different systems will draw different amps while “off”. You are shooting for about a max of .10 amp draw while ignition is off, less is better. While hooked up, disconnect things till you see a drop in amps. That will be your problem area.

Agree with Boneyard51, but with one caveat. Just case you have a heavy drain that could draw more amps than your meter can handle, and possibly damage it,place an inline fuse holder with a fuse just below the amp limits of your meter in series with the meter with it connected as above.

No problem with the inline fuse. Most quality multimeters have built in fuse in side the meter. Ask me how I know! Lol
