Parking brake design

So during my lunch break at work I threw this design together the other day for a ww2 airplane inspired build I am doing it is suppose to look like a throttle control for a plane but i plan to use it as a parking brake lever what do you all think???

I think it will work, just have to work out the travel and length so you have strong enough pull. Going to use a ratchet mechanism to hold it?

 

What are you planning on using it on? and where do you plan on mounting it? HRP
