    Hi all,

I am reinstalling my parking brake on my 64 Galaxie but I seem to be missing parts and I don't have the book.

I know I need a U-clip to hold the cable to the pedal assembly, but what actually pulls the brake cable? Should there be a clevis like a Chevy? Please see the photos of my pedal assembly.

    Thanks

Thanks, I couldn't get it to work on my phone.

  4. I believe the '60 is the same assembly and yes, there's supposed to be a clevis that the cable attaches to. My manual has no pics (sorry!) or I'd post them...

  7. That's probably a 'generic' picture, Ford used a dash knob initially then moved the pull to under the dash later.

Is the clevis part 2861 like the picture the other person posted?

The pic is showing the 1962 setup but it is out of the 64 Galaxie manual. The assembly is the same, but the release for the 64 comes out under the dash.

Thanks a lot egads and crazy steve!

  12. If you can't find the bits, Ford used essentially the same assembly well into the '70s/early '80s so it shouldn't be hard to come up with the parts.

  13. The '59 I have, the release is under the dash. I had 3 '64 Fords but cannot recall how they released. I was able to pick up a new front cable for my '59, the old one was seized up. It was a bugger to get the old one out, a real tight spot to work in.
