How did this JC Whitney type gadget work?….or NOT work

 

The instructions are how to parallel park.......but everybody needs a pointer on their dash, right? Some great marketing right there.

did this come in the box with the curb feelers when one would buy a set?

 

It looks like you place the pointer on the dash at an angle, with your car parallel to the car in front of the place you want to park into and you back up turning the wheel until the pointer is parallel to the curb then turn the wheel to the other side.
A completely useless gadget.
