History PARNELLI JONES supermodified, circa 1960

You are absolutley right. Sent pics to Parnelli. He called me the day he received them. What a GREAT GUY. We talked awhile. He said he would like to have it. I shot him a BIG number. He said " he already had 25 cars he didn't know what he was going to do. with. [ 2008 ]

 

Amelia Island about late 2000. Parnelli Grand Marshall. Tom Cotter from my home town had something to do entries. He said powers that be DON'T want recreations but 2 FAKE cars Parnelli told me about. The fake USAC championship sprint car and a FAKE Bill Stroppe 64 Mercury stock car. Sprint car had Fike Plumbing Special painted on it. It was a piece of ****,. Parnelli said it even had a Powerglide transmission. A bigger car than the smaller original car built by Hank Henry. Hank must be turning over in his grave. Parnelli told me no way did Stroppe build that crude 64 Merc. I wanted to go. Thanks Tom Cotter.

 

Do you know anything about this car in 1959. Jim Hurtubise drove it some.

 

I am building a 1960's type offset sprint roadster. Ch***is is done. Aluminum body over half done. Head rest by Damon . Full time metal shaper. 1970 type super modified. Will carry # 14 & Foyt red/orange paint. Hope to pick up side panels from the sign shop 6-22-26. 1958 recreation # 6 Wisconsin modified. Ch***is done. Need help cutting done 1936 Ford body. Windows 11 [ a real P O S ] won't let me show you # 6. Tried 4 times.

 

I thought I read somewhere the # 97 ch***is was built by Rip Erickson. The Bob Hogle # 42 Top Hat Special looks similar. ????
