    Thanks to a generous HAMB'er, I have a new Moog catalog in my library.

    Unfortunately, I can not find any tie rod ends listed which meet your specs.

    I tried alternate lengths, but still no luck. ....The 5/8"-18 thread with the 1/2"-20 stud seems to be non-existent.

    The 1/2"-20 stud thread is used with various size tapers, so you will need to know the major/minor diameter of the taper.

    The 1/2"-20 stud end is used mainly on 11/16" or 3/4" shank sizes. ----- The 5/8"-18 shank uses mainly 7/16"-20 or 5/8"-18 stud ends.

    I checked the listing 3 times, so I don't think I missed anything. ....Perhaps a different manufacturer?

    Im sure you did....yea I started with the "standard ford" tie rods for the curtis rods, but ended up with the standard speedway rods wich are 5/8 instead of the 11/16....I might have to go with a hyme joint set up if this dosnt pan out
    thanks for your help

    I found some more info in a 30-year-old TRW catalog. There were dimensions there that do not appear in the current Moog catalog. Using that info with the latest Moog catalog, I found these:

    MOOG # ES 379 RL --- Tie Rod Ends

    4.000" length --- 5/8"-18 LEFT-hand thread

    stud major dia = .623"
    stud minor dia = .554"
    length of taper= .552"
    stud thread --- 1/2"-20

    Used on 1969-1972 Full-size Mercury and Ford

    ============

    MOOG # ES 351 RL --- Tie Rod Ends

    4.000" length --- 5/8"-18 LEFT-hand thread

    stud major dia = .623"
    stud minor dia = .568"
    length of taper= .440"
    stud thread --- 1/2"-20

    Used on 1965-1968 Full-size Mercury and Ford

    ============
    I found NO ends with 5/8"-18 RIGHT-hand threads, which meet the specs.

    I hope this helps!

    I'm trying to make a drag link and some part numbers for tie rod ends would help me a lot also. The end of the tie rod ends that screw in to the drag link needs to be 5/8"s. I would like the left tie rod end to have left hand threads and be made to where the stud that goes through the pit man arm is about 1/2" on the big side of the taper and 7/16"s on the small side of the taper.
    The other tie rod end needs to have right hand threads and be 5/8"s on the big side of the taper and 1/2" on the small side.
    I can use 1/2" threads if I have to, but would rather have the 5/8"s.
    Any one know what these may be?
    Mike
