I'd like help and I'm wondering if I can be of help. 1. A while back, I saw someone's signature on here had a link to some kind of technical article archive. It was part of the H.A.M.B. but I had to kind of sign up for it. Is it just this: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=8 or is there another I'm thinking of?Disregard, I found this under Manage Your Account > Networking > Social Groups 2. The thread I just read about a thermostat housing for a 303 Olds made me wonder if the H.A.M.B.ers had ever worked together on a big spreadsheet type of thing to facilitate parts interchange. For starters, an "all relevant dimensions of thermostat housings" database, if you will. Some of the most exciting automotive stuff to me is when stuff interchanges that "ain't supposed to according to the catalog." I'm a huge fan of saving and archiving information on the computer. And my favorite parts store guy has some seriously H.A.M.B. relevant catalog look-up skills. So it's been on my mind for a while. Thoughts? Tomatoes?
That sounds like a good idea, that is too much work. But if you want to take charge and get it organized so it's easy to contribute, it might fly. I just spent half an hour looking at the 55 chevy technical documentation from GM, and a 20 year old Moog spring catalog....it would be neat to have the computer automagically tell me what springs to order (67 Chevelle SS396 springs) but I don't know how to make that happen.
