Alright, I just picked up a '37 Ford coupe.
I'll be needing some parts for it so I thought I would ask for resources for repop parts.
    What's out there?

Well, most of the interior parts, glove box door, ash tray, guages ( I have a speedo), a rear seat for it (I know it didn't come with one), exterior door handles, good bumpers (the chrome's gone on mine), trunk latch and handle, gas tank, dropped front axle, a four-bar set-up and some form of 'instructions' as to how it goes together...:)

Oh and I need a cowl vent, too...

  9. I don't know about the PU & car ash tray...... but I'm betting "no".

Go to Ebay Motors & save a search for "1937 Ford" most of that little stuff you need is listed all the time & much of it sells rather cheap.

As for 4 bar kits, you don't need one. If you're running a stock (or '39) trans, you don't even have to split the stock wishbones. If you swap the trans for something newer (which will most likely = larger) then you just need to split the stock wishbones.

Chassis Engineering has a nice kit for this.

  10. Let us know what year your wishbone is before you buy an axle....and if you're planning on splitting it. A '35/'36 wishbone & a later wishbone have different measurements between the perch pins.

If you're splitting the wishbone this isn't as much of a concern. If not, you have to be sure your axle & wishbone will work together.

Most of what you list is available from a variety of sources. It would be nice if reproductions of the 37 glove box door, ash tray, and radio hole cover were available. This stuff shows up here and there but are scarce.

I am also working on a 37. I wish I could figure out about posting pics so you could view. I installed a complete chassis engineering dropped axle and rear suspension kit. Shoot me you email and I will send some pics.

    Thanks. that one works.
What width rear end do I need for this coupe?
Also, what would one suggest for a daily driver:
    1. Transverse spring with reversed eyes
    2. Parallel leaf with sway bar

    Also...
    1. Split bones up front
    2. Four-bar up front

  15. For a daily driver, if it was mine...........

    Parallel leafs & split bones.

    OK, stupid question time.
Can I use split bones with a dropped axle?

  17. Yes, & you'll save the cost of a 4 bar kit in the process.

Well, yesterday, I picked up the power plant for my 37.
    How's this?
1957 283 with power pack heads and a factory four barrel in running condition, oh and the factory three speed with a Fenton sgifter still attached. It's reputedly out of a '57 Chevy car. Now I need a flywheel and bellhousing. Oh and a finned aluminum oil pan and vintage Cal Custom finned valve covers.
I didn't plan on starting this project yet...
