Lookin for a good parts washer-don't need a snap-on or anything like that, just lookin for a good washer for my shop. Won't use it every day, anybody got a suggestion on one? Not lookin to spend a shit load of money on one, just a decent washer.
I have a small 20-gallon job from Harbor Freight that I received as a gift. The expensive part is solvent. It works fine for the few things I do. The washer: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=98332 The solvent: http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/items/2W352
Anybody have any designs for a homebuilt parts washer made with an old washing machine motor? I saw one many years ago, and all I remember is that the barrell was tilted at about a 15 degree angle and it had 3 or 4 "paddles" welded in it so that when it rotated the parts would tumble, kinda like a clothes dryer does. Best I remember, the guy used mineral spirits in it. Anyhow, looking for some ideas if anybody has done it. Any do's and dont's???
Dealer liquidation auctions. I bought a kickass Rotunda with a rotator and aggitator gig for $110 out the door. Those are a good source of professional equipment and a better place to spend your $$$.
I've got a cheap Chinese one from Tractor Supply. It was about 100 bucks. Works plenty fine. I use Naptha in it which you could also buy at Tractor Supply. As long as you close the lid when not using it, the Naptha lasts a long time.
Does anyone make a good cleaner/ solvent that is nonflamable ? My shop is small and I would like to elminate as many fire hazards as possible.
