I just got off the phone with Penny. Paso is FULL.

    Fully booked. All 850 cars.:p

They will not be taking any registration at the event.

This is especially important for out of state folks. I'd hate to

see someone coming from back east expecting to register

at the event and be turned away.

If you pre registered, you should already have your paperwork

or should get it in the mail this week.

Looks like it's gonna be one of the biggest shows yet.

Look forward to seeing you all there.

Be sure to look me up:cool:

Looking is always free. You can come to the park, see the cars, etc.

You just won't be able to cruise the blvd Friday night.

The cruise is for registered cars only

I am so beyond ticked off now. Myself for lagging, and UPS for screwing up my 2 day air delivery with our registrations. I doubt they got them now. I want to kick myself and UPS in the rear. *sigh* wait til I tell Mac. There may be some blood loss soon, and a couple cars for sale cheap after my demise! LOL!

Hope we at least score parking 'close' by. And I wanted to cruise...

We do give a damn. But that's why you pre regester.

It has been no secret that Paso fills up. It happens every year.
We were telling everyone, including myself on this very board,
that you need to pre regester.

The friday night cruise is for entered cars only. That's why we have to limit
it to 850 cars. It's been that way forever. If we open it up to anyone on
wheels we get an overload of local high schoolers and their Scions.

They block off the streets and from 7:30 9:30 only entered cars are
allowed to cruise. Before and after that, the streets are open.

I just called my dad and told him the news, Not a happy person, this was his first year to attend, even got a hotel in Paso.... Just block off a few more streets.

  9. OK I need to pipe up on this, even if you did not register you will have a KICK *** time! I have gone with my car and without it plenty of times and not been in the show and had just as good a time as when I was registered for the show ( yes, it is cool to park up on the gr*** and all, but you need to get up at 4 am to get in line too!) The cruise is just Friday night, I have watched and I have driven in it, I find watching just as fun. You can bomb up and down Spring St all you want on Saturday night, and trust me it is FULL of cars cruising around Sat too...Just don't drive like a jack *** and watch out for the cops! No matter how far your coming from, drive your car, show up and you will have a blast.

Haven't been to Paso, Huh. It is packed. I live 30 minutes from there. I have to get up early to be in line too. If you want to park on the gr*** you have to be in line early. There is other parking for cars in the show on the streets surrounding the park. There is actually some parking for cars not registered on the street in front of the park but it is pretty hard to get. EVILT.

  12. EVILT speaks the gospel, get in line early! Actually its kinda cool if you've never been there before as its all part of the experiance. Tons of cool cars lined up, folks checking things out, ********ting & catching up with (or just meeting people) friends. I always got a good nap in til the line started moving..

Ratboy is right. You can still have a great time just seeing what’s going on.

There are always a few who pre reg and never show up. That leaves a few openings.

One of the problems with any successful runs is that everyone wants to get a good spot. Over the last few years, it's gotten like a greedy guys event. A bunch of em get there at the **** crack of dawn to get a good spot. We can only fit so many cars on the gr***. The rest park on the streets around the park.

Even if you are not registered you can still have a great time.

The gr*** is nice if you are hanging with your car..You get the shade when it's hot. Some of the coolest cars and guys can be found parking on the street with their clubs and buddies though...It isn't quite as bad as a Greedy Guys event with the cones and fighting over spots, but you need to be early for the gr***. I got a family and the kids are coming along. The shade and the kiddie rides in the park are the only thing that lets them last all day.EVILT

Wow... seems like a lot of people are upset that there is a chance they won't be in the show, when there is plenty of parking all up and down and around the town? Funny thing is, I see/take pictures of a LOT of cars that arent entered into the show, and the only difference is the lack of a piece of paper on the windshield... That doesnt make them less of anything... hell if nothing else you saved yourself some money! some of my favorite cars and ones that werent actually entered... big deal.

Unless, this whole car show thing is just for you guys to win some trophies?

*Yes, that last comment was sarcastic*

Man! Even IF you are not registered for the show, YOU and YOUR car will be in the SHOW, (maybe not on the gr***, but every nook and cranny in that city is filled with hot rods and customs) the WHOLE town is the SHOW! If you come away not having a good time in Paso you might want to get into underwater basket weaving or maybe bumper sticker restoration. Wish I was going...

the way i see it the whole damn town is a car show, your not going too miss out on too much by not being registered, I always and I know everybody else walks across the street to the gas station and paso inn to check out the cars, there pretty much parked all up and down the street, hopefully they will open up the other corner of the park sat. morn to let cars in it sure made it nice last year when they did that, that line can get a little rough on the cooling system.

If you live in California and get get the money to here before she heads out then you may be able to still get in. Just call her she is real nice.

Droppin my name is always an option.

It could get you entrance in some places,
    kicked out of other places,
    laid in several places,
Or shot at if you're in the wrong places.

It sure would be nice if you could leave your cars parked in the park instead of waking up at the crack of dawn every day to overheat in line. I always wondered why this isn't an option?? Oh yeah and kicking out the gold chainer cars would help the over crowded factor:)

Probably wont make the gr*** section since I dont like getting up that early and will be wore out from the long haul but we will be there helping to represent Texas with the Continentals. Look forward to meeting alot of the west coast HAmbers.

If you missed registration, just go hang out at the drive in restruant down the street in the afternoon. It seems to be the place to be. or park across the street in the gas station. I got there last year around 7 am and park on the main street about 3 cars down from the gas station..

    It can be done.

Every year I pick up a reg form at the SF Rod and Custom show in Jan/ Feb. My buddies think I'm nuts for mailing in the deal so early- This year I'm #36.
It's just hands down, my favorite show, and I know I'm going every year, so I pre-reg and its one less thing to think about.

BTW- Ratboy is right, you'll have a hoot, reg or not. Just come.

    Hope to see y'all there.

    jay
