    Listed 8 weeks ago that one is either gone or the paperwork is a mess. I've seen too many Cali rigs that never got a non opt notation on the paperwork that have more than the price of the car owed in back taxes. On the other hand that doesn't mean a thing in the 49 other states one might load it up and haul it to. Clear Cali ***le? Cool, that's going to be $$**X with transfer, sales tax, excise tax and plates.

    In California if it's 25 years or older, have collector interest (everything does) and you know the law..there are no back fees due. Under CA DMV reg section 4604 (d) (3), such cars are exempted from having to file a non op. You don't have to file a non op = no back fees.
