Oh yeah; I know many of you notice that the bill of sale says it is a coupe. It WAS a three window when he got it but somewhere along the way, before 1961, he swapped the body to a cabriolet. Here is a picture of the car in 1946 in Queens, NY when the owner married the gal he met on New Year's Day 1942 while skating.
My 5 window has been in my family since the mid 50’s. One day my wife was admitting a patient at a VA hospital in Nor Cal ( my 5er came from S.D.) . When the question came up about past residency came up the old gent said Souix Falls S.D. in which my wife said my husband was from Hudson S.D. He then states he sold a 1932 Ford to a guy in Hudson. BTW, Hudson had a population of about 500.
I have 7, only know the history on one. It is a 49 Willys flat fender pickup. My uncle bought it from the original owners wife after he p***ed. My uncle fixed her up and drove her to work for about 5 years, till he retired. He gave it to my Dad, Dad gave her to me. However, when I prepared to get tags, I saw the VIN does not match. It listed the engine number as a ID instead of the cab number. The engine was tired and replaced with a 59ab. < the coupe I found interesting, it originally had a light on top, and was black with white doors at some point. In the late 60's it was fixed up, using **** carpet and a KC news paper for padding. Doors were painted black, expect when they did the ****. Looks like after that, someone attempted a scary *** race car, front brakes removed, Olds rear end installed, cobbled up motor mounts. Don't think they ever got it going as the rear brakes do not look like they were ever connected. I bought it at a s**** yard where it had been since around 1975. She will be back on the road by spring 2019. I painted the door jambs, and inside last weekend, now I need a good warm weekend to finish.
