What a freaking shame! But, Pat was at least able to decide on his terms how he left this planet. I guess that's way better than a lot of us will get. Cindy Gibbs' eulogy is amongst the most moving that I have ever read. I'm certain that if others had her writing ability that we would be reading them for months to come. What a guy, what a friend, what a craftsman, what a driver - what a human being. The world is a much sadder place now that Patty is gone. RIP, my friend.
Wow, just wow. I just spent the last 30 minutes reading the WDIFL site and here is a man who lived life on his terms, valued friends above things, and was rewarded for it by the legacy he left behind. Prayers of consolation to all his friends and family. GV
I am sad to hear this, my condolences to the Foster Family and Freinds. Thoughts and prayers from my end. There must be one cool hot rod shop up there somwhere for all these legends we have lost.
This earth is a better place for having guys like Pat Foster here! RIP Thoughts are with Cole, all the Fosters and friends. -Shiny
Patty was more than good friend he was was part of our team drove the Shady Glenn Funny Car in the 70's...... My prayers goes out to Cole and the Foster family Patty you will be missed by all ..RIP
Did not know him, but sure knew his work through the years. Very best to his family. This year is getting weird, though.
I hate seeing these obits. I won't pretend to know any of them personaly but it is sad to see the legends of the automotive world pass away. I do not come from an automotive family or group of friends so I feel personally connected to those that i see in print or here on the board because we share an interest that the vast majority see as just a form of transportation. as a group we delight in customizing or making these machines personal, making them the best. as a group we celebrate these creations and we are saddened by the loss of like-minded individuals, as many as we are, we are truly a rare breed and I for one feel lucky to have learned of guys like Pat Foster
Man sorry to hear this. Godspeed, and my sympathies to Cole and the rest of Pat's family and friends.
No matter how many times we experience loss or how how much we may have seen it coming, it still hurts the same. My prayers are with the Foster family and Pat's friends. RIP Pat.
Wow! Reading all of that was brutally beautiful. What a treat to have people like this in the world and in the next one. It's nice to have people who are worth shedding tears over when they leave. Congratulations to Pat on a life well done and I look forward to seeing his inspiration carried on by those around him. Only the physical man is gone.
