This folks, is the third purpose built mid-sixties style top fueler to come into existance. It is the FIRST one to actually run and it is completely NHRA LEGAL.

This is NOT a "newstalgia" fueler with the driver 4 feet in the air, a narrow front axle and the motor way out in front. This is not a restoration or an updated old car, nor is it only going to "cackle" on the centerline. This fueler was built by Cole Foster's dad Patty for the mega star mega $$$$ Pedregon brothers in honor of their old man, "Flamin' Frank" Pedregon.

    GOD BLESS AMERICA.

Drag racing's gonna get reeeeal interesting soon...

When that thing drove...under power...down the return road before the final round I about crapped myself. 100 percent BADASS!!!!! Saw Cole there as well, sans cowboy hat. Let's not forget that Dale Armstrong built the mill in that digger.

Wow! That's all I can say.
That's so cool I'll even say it back words, Wow!

  6. What'd it run?

I hope to see them boys tearing up the track with it...

The only thing I think I would have done different is not have chopped the body so much... left the side window it's natural shape.

Are they going to tear up the GG/VRA with this thing?

That is some sweet action. I'm also curious about what kind of times it's laying down.

One of the benefits of the coupe body, besides how cool it looks, is it covers up the modern style rollcage. Nitro Neil's diggers were some of the few I've seen that were true, balls out, blown nitro beasts that had the look, and ran in competition.

So, what does it need in order for nhra to let them make full passes? Diapers and blower restraints? Can't wait.

Too bad the Pedregons are dicks and probably don't appreciate that like any of us would.

Pedregons are dicks? Tony is my pal and he is nice to me. He has painted every single helmet I have ever raced in... Towards the end there, he was getting pretty good at painting the state flag of OKLAHOMA.

P.S. The side glass has always looked that way...

P.S.S. The HAMB Drags could get interesting.

OK, that was uncalled for. I got a PM from Tony, too (guess that answers my question about it really being him). Sorry.

    Man....that rocks. What a tribute.

Somebody photoshop that in Quaker State colors.....that thing would look awesome with a green and gold paint job.

  17. Now that I have a "historical perspective" on the side glass... I like it. Hahaha...

Hey, if I shoot off at the mouth like Right Front (RF) did... can I get a PM from you Tony?

I think the car is sweet man... and can't wait to see it run...

soooo... again, where are they planning on running it?

    Sam.

I said COULD be interesting... Maybe if you guys make a big enough case for it here, it WILL be interesting...

What ya say Tony? Bring that bitch - I gotta hunch there might be some competition there for ya. Something with a lesser roll cage and a bigger motor... Scared?

Oh man oh man oh man....I should probably clarify a few things before I explode. As I understand it, this car is built to run in open competition with the new top fuelers. THAT is AWESOME.

What I'm referring to with "purpose built" is I hope that this car will also run (with extreme prejudice) as an old school tire smoker as well. By this I mean the full boat mid-60s top fuel show...

*Roll past the crowd to the end of the track with a period push vehicle.
*Push start toward the starting line.
*Have the crew turn the car around and line it up. No reverser.
*Roll to the line, stage and scare the shit out of everybody with a wheels up, tire smoking, flamethrowin' full 1/4 mile pass....

THAT'S what my cars were built for, and brother, if I get to run that bad mother@#$%er someday, ESPN will see me shoot an antlered moose out of my ass. It could happen...we got this far!

I have to give credit for two cars that I know of built to run open competition in NTF...Pierre Poncia's "SNIPER", which used the "factory" dragster body from the movie "More American Graffitti", and "Nitro Neil" Basquigglia's (sorry Neil) fuel coupe. They were never intended to run as tire smokers (as far as I know) but had the look. I gotta go spray some more paint, but folks...THIS IS GOOD STUFF.

Fuck you, Samson! You couldn't be as stupid as me even if you tried! Wait, oh nevermind.

Okay, here's my contribution to this, courtesy my Web guy, Nick Licata. Proof that the Pedgregon car's got balls:

This sure could be the greatest show on earth...But it's a double-edged sword: It would be incredibly exciting if a match like this happened at the HAMB drags, but wouldn't it also spell the end of the innocence for our little event? I mean, you KNOW ESPN won't want to miss that "full antlered moose" act, and neither will the Enquiror, Entertainment Tonight, Rolling Stone, Juxtapoz, etc...Just a thought...Of course, if you guys all want to do it, and Ryan approves it, I'd sure like to cover the story......................................

  26. Tony don't have a hair on his ass if he doesn't bring that thing out to the HAMB Drags...

and speaking of which... when are we going to invite some front motored fuelers out to run... and some gassers. There are quite a few grass roots organizations that cater to these types of cars... get ahold of 'em and have 'em put on a show at MOKAN for the troops!

I love it! Conder- You sound alot like my buddy Ken Kull, he runs an A Gasser called the "Red Baron". He too is tired of all the pussies in the sport and wants some competition in A/Gas. Can't seem to find any.... Pete Hill is another guy (The original owner of the Red Baron) that's sick of all the guys running the "New-Stalgia" circuit. They just want to pose by thier cars and run slow.

Its about time that drag racing became interesting again. Thanks for doing your part and spreading the word. God bless the Fosters!

LOL.....I just realized this was Tim Conder. Bike builder. Schweet.

I caught the Armageddon Top Fuel site a while back (maybe after the article on Bandits Bikernet?) and haven't kept up with it.

Seeing a race between you two...like you described.....would be the shit.
