SOooo...Will SamIyam save Conder from terminal embarrassment by waving his magic wrench over the stereo fuelers and magically bring them to life? Will the Joker then be motivated to prove some twisted point by DRIVING his dads old jalopy from California to Missouri, and take on heaven and hell with his brothers by his side? And what about Plan9??? Stay tuned!!!
Huh? I think this is a good time to clarify things yet again. I have a quarter of a million dollars worth of badass match racing fuelers and push cars. They are not finished yet and I can't spare any money at this time, nor do I have the man hours available to me for finishing them alone. I started posting on this board in the hopes of recruiting some no-shit hot rodders to help me get 'em running. So far it's worked out pretty !@#$in' good. I have not however, promised ANYBODY ANYTHING. Therefore, there is nothing to be "embarrassed" about. GET IT?
Sounds like we need to show you "the magic wrench" !! Wooooooohooooooooooooooo!!! Sam. (ps it was a joke... I really don't have a majic wrench)
This is WILD!!! and I don't have time to read it all right now or to type a lot. I'm gonna get tears in my eyes anyway. You can do this. We pulled it off with the Heartland Hot Rod Nationals. Who came? Suhr and Lechtenberg Troy Green Bach and Gould (one badass Ford) Jon Barrett Champion Speed Shop Proffessor Ginz (I crewed with) Joe Hendricks Randy Lauen Master Cam Claudie Meador Denver Schutz Bob Steffens Kent Terry And my idol for life, Mousie Marcellus pulling all the way in his old Dodge. Raffles, auctions, bake sales if you have to. and... I couldn't help but put two and two together, or WTF... Maybe Tim can borrow from the Joker? for sponsorship?
HEY HEY! Now we're talkin'. I saw quite a few NTF guys on that list. I bet they could build a mean ass tire smoker...A motor makin' too much power, a little metalflake and a chassis where you actually look UP at the slicks? I triple dog dare ya. Mousie, Mike Boyd and the Winged Express. A true force of nature. Sam, I meant it when I said drop by anytime, and that goes for the rest of you freaks too. You don't have to take it as far as I have to put your money where your mouth is, after all I'm "fuckin' CRAZY"...
THIS THREAD WAS DUG UP FROM 2005. Just thought it was some interesting reading. Just wish I could see the photos of the diggers they were talkin about. So anyone have them please post them. Thanks
I haven't sold any of the ATF stuff yet as of 07/14/07. Each car is only available complete. I've had 4 people call me, 1 guy from canada that runs 2 current injected NFDs who may buy both cars to run exhibition, 1 guy who wants a bare chassis, 1 guy who wants to buy God's rear wheels (cheap) and another who wants some extra Donovan valves. I Googled Don Garlits the other day and there was an article on there showing he recently built a new car based on his '65 chassis, running all new big power... I've said it before and I'll keep saying it. My cars will be the shot in the arm all of Drag Racing needs if they're run right...tour the small tracks with friends as a match race show, stay away from the big fancy "'PLEX's", promote the deal like a punk band...cool hand silkscreened posters, merch etc. It'll work blah blah blah. A few guys with real skills can build my 80,000 dollar car for about the price of a mid-range chopper if they do all the work themselves. Each engine was under 30k including top fuel bellhousing and clutch - and that was me paying a pro shop to build them. The only real comment I have on all you badasses running any kind of front engine car is this...get those cages out of the sky, stop using giant 90 degree cage bends and make the operation as beautiful and interesting as you can (in other words, do it for the fans too). If this type of gig ever gets off the ground, it'll be by a "real" drag racer who can think beyond "current" drag racing. - Good luck, Tim
conder, you should be running NHRA ... i know of your plan... a blown nitro carnival/side show, love IT and your aesthetic
Conder, My son met you a few years ago at a Magazine Party and turned me on to your plans. Man you busted your ass and built two of the most Bad Ass cars I've seen, I mean the right look and right people helping you. Whoever ends up with these cars are going to get a bargain with your 'sweat equity' invested and some history with them being among the last cars Ogden built.
Those two cars, your recent sketch in GARAGE and the HAMB Drags gave me vision for my altered. I dont care if I run once a year, I want it simple and BAAAAAAD.
Conder, Thanks for postin the photos of Flamin' Franks recreation. Also your art work is bad ass. Could you post the one of; half fuel mask, half jesus skull ? Best of luck in what ever you do next. Brian
Tony was cool to get on here and participate. Also, the entire ATF website is back up as a section of www.condercustom.com Click on the "Armageddon Top Fuel" link and have fun...my wife Alyssa is doing a great job on our website and there's a lot of new stuff. Yes, all the ATF stuff is still for sale (now maybe you crazy fuckers from Sweden will quit pestering me to put it back up!) - Thanks, Tim
fuck, your illustration of baby jesus and the wise men is insane man (hey, thats my take on it)... the contrast of light and dark is expert. beautiful work.
Thanks Ryan, maybe we'll meet at some car show somewhere and you can tell me what it was like to drive one of Garlits' SWAMP RATS. Plan 9, if you're talking about the above color illustration, I just did the sketch and a GREAT computer game artist named Mitch Cotie did the color. That art is a really good example of what ATF was supposed to be...a collaboration between artists, craftsmen, mechanics etc. It's actually Satan's fueler with a bunch of Nunns, but I like your idea better!
I need a print of this as well as, I'm sure, many of the other HAMB'rs. Print 'em up, and make some extra scratch for fuel or a case of Mountain Dew. I've got a spot in my Garage just waiting for Conder art.....
Mitch was going to do a companion to that one from another sketch of mine, but I've been too busy to get him one. We planned on offering these as merch for ATF but, ATF is for sale. Look for Mitch in the site search and contact him. Maybe he'll print you one out and send it to ya. By the way Jeem, why don't you post the AMAZING sketches you did a while back for ATF?
If it's cool wichoo(?) I'll find 'em and post 'em. ....and yeah, I'll be contacting him. I sure hope you have other things cookin' cause the ATF was too cool to imagine. Some bigwheel must have the where-with-all to pop for the ATF traveling show......
