    Hello everyone,

I have been following all these threads for years and it has inspired me to act on a lifetime dream of building a Model a coupe with my two sons. I apologize in advance for taking so long to post my project. We have been working on it for about a year and a half so far. We started with nothing but slowly acquired the parts from Carlisle and Hershey swap meets, we hand made a good amount of stuff and yes we bought some repop stuff as well. I guess you would call our project a minimalistic traditional build, kind of a nod to the mid 50's era (yes I know the sbc is a stretch) I am not a pro builder by any means, nor am I a body man. I am a lifelong Porsche master mechanic that can certainly spin a wrench pretty well but this build is uncharted territory for me. I have enjoyed the journey, the vision and the wonderful memories building this Coupe with my two sons. I have made a few mistakes along the way with this build, and I'm sure there some still to come as well. I will attach some pictures and hopefully update them as I continue. Try not to laugh to hard... remember its my first build.. Thanks and enjoy

Wow, really good. I like how you chopped the car. Vertical pins in the wood is a smart idea! When you put the top back down, the posts will center themselves without clamps!

  4. Good on ya' for teaming up with the kiddos. The chop looks good.

That's awesome to build with your boys. My daughters like to hang out in the shop too. Building memories and hot rods, don't get better than that.

Outstanding, wouldn't be surprised that a couple more projects are in the future!

  17. That's some very nice work.
I like the recess in the trans tunnel, obviously for foot and gas pedal.
I haven't seen that done before.
I'm going to go hit the watch ****on.

Nice day here in Pennsylvania so we pushed the car outside. We got the trunk panels welded in today. We also got the entire car stripped and sanded (finally) full metal 012.PNG full metal 010.PNG full metal 006.JPG full metal 003.JPG full metal 009.JPG full metal 008.JPG dash pics 008.PNG dash pics 007.JPG full metal 012.PNG full metal 010.PNG full metal 006.JPG full metal 003.JPG full metal 009.JPG full metal 008.JPG dash pics 008.PNG dash pics 007.JPG

Thanks guys, Its our first go around with a project like this.... We are under the gun now. My son Zach is a high school senior and we are pushing for him to drive it to school for the last week of high school! It will be in bare metal for this summer. We will iron out all the kinks and then take it apart next winter for a proper paint prep and spray.
