Hi guys, Just a quick question regarding on how, where to put a pcv valve into a Edelbrock 3 carb setup. It is an old intake with 3 x 94 carbs and there is a vent at the rear which I would assume that a pcv valve should be hooked up to. Where can I run my pipe to? My valve covers are genuine Moon from the 60's and don't have any holes in them. The oil filler has a cap as a breather but I seem to be getting oil blowing out of sump and dip stick lately, thinking I may need a pcv. Your thoughts are appreciated. Cheers
They make a kit that goes in that hole that has like aluminum strips in it, and a place for a PCV then you just hook it into a vacuum source. Not sure who makes it. Might be able to find out tomorrow. I think it may be Carl’s Ford Parts? Bones
Used a Basket... can be bought for about 50 bucks...Blue thunder,Tony D.,.... I too wanted a clean look on my trip-power set up.
Sounds a little goofy, but the Y-Block in my Ford has no PCV system just the top open fill tube and canister side lower breather pipe off the block with the rear angle cut. It did like to "breath" a bit out the top and gave that 50's oil smell. It has only 10k on a rebuild. I bought a top breather cap with a 1/2" hose connection and cut a hole in the lower air filter bottom in front of the rear 4 barrel of my dual quads (which it runs on 99% of the time) and used a grommet and 90* plastic fitting from Pep Boys. Fixed the problem. No smell or fumes. I'm guessing the normal running of the engine sucks vapors while idling and the angle cut sucks it out the lower breather when driving. The carb always looks clean and the lower breather never drips or has any residue when I wipe out the 1" tube.
