$150 bucks is not bad considering the caliber of cars you get to see.

  2. Exactly....you will see stuff there that you will NEVER see anywhere else, ever....

They had the largest collection of Ex Works Bentley LeMans cars there Sunday, including ALL the Blower cars...It was the 1st time in history all the cars were together, that alone was worth the admission price.

you have to remember, all the judges at Pebble Beach are tired of seeing the same old Delage and Delahaye and Bugatti...

Yeah, but it's the second open Horch to win in the last 4 years.

    is it?
maybe the judges are closet Nazi sympathizers.

I've been going for about 25 years and the Horchs, (say Hork), are seemingly new found gems. It always amazes me what cars are found and get to the show each year. There are so many amazing cars you are barely getting to appreciate all the features because you have to get to the next one, and the next. And the setting... sheesh!

Yea, PB does that a lot. I went to the CDE and the Historics back in 1985, when it was still affordable. As a matter of fact, I don't recall paying anything to wander the grounds at PB and take pictures, although I'm sure we probably did.

That year they had all of the Bugatti Royales ever made (except the one that was totaled very early on) in the center ring. Since the chassis left the factory and went off to separate places for coachwork, it was the first and only time the cars have ever been together in one place. Very cool and I still treasure the pictures.

  11. Close- the "ch" should sound like you're just starting to hock up a loogie, but not quite as nasty...

On the other hand, I would assume that the judges would show no bias to anything other than quality.

Alsancle, you mentioned Erdmann and Rossi. There is a guy here in NJ,who is a well known car collector and a major Concours winner, who happens to own a E & R Horch, which, btw, has won at Pebble.

I would love to come out there some year.A local restoration shop brought out 2 cars this year.

The judge definitely has some beautiful cars. There is a local collector near by that bought the sister car to that Horch you are referring to. These cars for many years was very undervalued relative to the similar 540k/500k Mercedes but lately they have been getting a lot of attention.
