HAHA THANKS ya i got a few more things this week then off to paint and chrome baby !!

 

I went OLD School and built this ......................

 

The best part was drinking the beer and having the little one help put it together.

 

You can see they have been around Grandpa's stuff before. Messing with stuff and having fun is what it's all about

 

This is my sons new pedalcar it was painted by shubxdan and i couldn't be happier with the paint job!

What are the plans for the interior?

 

I dont know who made this trike but it is the baddest custom trike I have ever seen.

 

for the interior..i swiped a seat off a little trike..it looks like a racing seat. Not sure on paint..im thinking silver with pink and purple flames.

 

I purchased this one as a kit from Speedway for my cousin's 3 year old son last February. Due to free time constraints at the time I handed off the bodywork and paint to his dad who was nice enough to finish my birthday present for his boy. He did a little tweaking before sprayed it to match his 54' Olds.

I took it back for a quick and dirty seat installation just to give him a little something more comfortable to sit in. Now that his son doesn't want to ever part with it, we're going to have to hijack it over winter or build another one to give him the custom the two of us wanted to make but couldn't find the time to do so with...

Some amazing creations on this thread, keep them coming!

BTW, I'm a relatively new canvas & upholstery shop owner cutting my teeth on everything but what i want to work on eventually (classics) at the moment. That translates into if you want the best upholstery, I can't help you, but if you want something cool for your child's ride I enjoyed working on this little guy's ride so much that if anyone needs a hand don't hesitate to ask. I have piles of leftover (read free) materials lying around and I'd smile working on one of these at the end of a long day while unwinding with a beer. I'd be happy to help you out if you want to add a little something to your project please feel free to ask (I'm not trying to sell anything here, donations are occasionally entertained but rarely accepted).

Well, my son was born on Monday and the pedal car should be here on Friday. Now I am going back through this thread and researching all over again. There are some great ones in here. Anyways here is a sketch of what I am thinking about doing. Cannot decide on color though.

well mailbob..i started with a speedway kit. It just depends on how often you're going to use it and believe me..get started the day you receive the car..lol. They take a long time to get stuff done on. I didnt want to use a seat like this on mine but my lil girls back would get tired from sitting up on her own. Makes it alot more comfortable. But if you need help or suggestions let me know.

I have bought a ford -32 stroller from Wicked and i have started to build it bought the small body but when i got it i saw that i had to have more room in the back for the motor i am gonna put in it so i have extended the body by 6inches.
But now to my question, how have you made your upholstrey for your stroller? I am a bit wodering about the sides and the sofa, how do you do the mounts for the sides of the interior? and how do you mount the sofa to the chassie? and how do you build it?
Any build pictures would be great!

One day we were goofing around with the camera, and took these shots of our son and a couple old pedal cars we have.





He was four then, and is 21 now...and has become a tech/mechanic.

He has also since customized one of these pedal cars, and it is displayed above the entertainment center in our living room.

The lead sled got dropped off for body work today.
