Here is my latest project (not HAMB friendly)
It's a 1971 Mustang Junior by the Conval company a 3/8 scale highly detailed go kart that was made for dealership promotions. They were gas or electric powered with working headlights, taillights, brakelights and horn. The body had a big hole in the hood that needed fixed, photos are in the back of my van since it is too cold and snowy here now.

I am thinking it needs to be painted Yellow and black just like the Elanor in the first gone in 60 seconds movie from 1974. I am working on the taillight lens mold this weekend so I can remake the original style lenses.

The one in red is a more complete one showing the side view.

Here is the two I built for my kids. The wagon started as a $25 cheap wal-mart buy.The roadster came from clist for $20.I got a bunch of half inch square tubing and built some frames for both. The drop axles are just cut out of 1/8" plate.I made the center first and beat and torched the tops and bottoms to fit.Welded them all together and then drilled the center. The kids love riding in them at cruises and shows. Now if I can get my car painted and back together we can all have some fun.

Here is s sneak peak at one I just sent to the upholster shop to get the interior put in. I will show a build on it later. It is for my grandson I built 3 one for each of my grand kids for their 1st birthday. Powered by a dewalt drill motor. They have a blast.

Hey guys, STOKED to find this thread...I started my biz TotRodz in June of 09 by complete accident after I built my daughters Sadface stroller and have been going strong ever since. My tag line is "Your Tot's Hot Rod Shop"

I've built a jig for the frames and will sell them if interested.

I'll get some pics up of some of my work soon.

ps The cute one in the pink sadface is mine:)

I have built 3 so far I found if you run dual batteries you can get about 40 minutes on pavement and less in the grass, but it has a lot of power I am 6.1- 225lbs and it pulls me around no problem. Remember I built these as a 1st birthday gift so we are talking 1 year old driving and they weigh about 25-30 pounds.

hmm. pretty cool. I ran dual batteries on my daughters power wheel and it swiftly smoked the motor. I'll have to try that. Where did you get the sprockets? They look like go kart parts...

My favorite shopping place McMaster-Carr they have a warehouse less than 20 miles away, I have an account there if I order before 8:00 pm it is on my door step the next day. Check them out you can get anything just enter it in their search window. I enter sprocket and got 2000 hits had to narrow it down picked up chain and sprockets from them.
Oh yea don't add batteries series for power add in parallel for longer run times.
When connecting in Parallel you are doubling the capacity (amp hours) of the battery while maintaining the voltage of one of the individual batteries. This would be used in applications such as laptop batteries, some scooters, some ups backups, etc. Use a jumper wire between the positives of both batteries and another jumper wire between the negatives of both batteries. Connect your positive and negative wires to the same battery to run to your application.

Excellent website, excellent advice.....thanks for both. The parallel wiring should work great.

I'm doing a 62 Caddy for my girl that has airbags like one of the guys on here only mine is gonna be a bit simpler and will hopefully employ some power of its own. (Thanks to your great idea!) Maybe RC? Who knows, anyway here's a few shots of my vision of my girls first hot rod, and the finished product.
