The 350hp Sunbeam was back at Pendine this week, driven by Don Wales (grandson of Sir Malcolm Campbell), 90 years to the day after it broke the Land Speed Record on the Welsh sands .
Built by Sunbeam at the company's Wolverhampton works, powered by a modified Manitou Arab 18.3-litre V12 engine. The car held three LSRs, the last in 1925, when it ran at 150.76mph. This week it made demonstration runs.
Sadly Babs didn't even make it out of the museum right by the Sands, but the Napier Railton, brought down from Brooklands, did.
