im heading to the grove sunday if it doesnt rain,,,where is a good place to eat on the way down????where doing the shady maple for lunch
I took a trip to see the "Squire" back in the 60's on the turnpike. Open exhaust on a '57 Ford. Highway Patrol pulled me over and took me to the exit to see the Squire in his '63 stick shift Chevy patrol car. The Squire says $25 big ones, son. I said "Squire sir, I don't have $25 big ones". The Squire says " What you got"? I opened my billfold and said "$14 Sir". The Squire says "$14 big ones son, $10 for me, $4 for the State". The trooper took me back to the '57 sittin' along side of the road and everybody was a happy camper.
I wouldn't eat any of the **** from the turnpike resteraunts for a great meal take a left on rt 10 ( you go right to go to the grove)after you get off the TP go down to the stop light make a right go about 2 miles and there's an awesome amish resturant with excellant local food, you won't leave hungry. (sorry I forgot the name of it) Paul
Zinn's is long gone now, place is called Parkside, ate there onetime and that was enough for me . . . Silkcity Diner is also gone now, turning it into a Seafood Resturant.
Yea the Windmill has good food . The Heritage right off the turnpike has good food also . Shady Maple will not be open on Sunday , that is amish country , no Sunday sales. I live about a mile from the Windmill in down town Morgantown. Jim
