hi just got hold of new perch bolts for 46 ford they seem rather loose fitting in the axle was just wondering if any body knows how much clearance / difference between bolt and axle
first time playing with early ford fron end any help appreciated

  2. Should be a fairly snug fit but not needing force to put in.

Your axle may be worn. That is the holes may be flogged out.

  5. What brand are they, I have a pair of stainless ones for my axle that are like a cock in a sock (loose), going to put the mic on them and compare them with some originals as I'm sure they've been machined under size..

Lots of posts regarding 'undersize' replacement bolts, shafts, etc. in the Early Ford marketplace.
I'm interested in sources for the 'good stuff' also. I found a source for king pin bushings (excellent, and reasonable) 10 years ago, but can't find the name of the supplier. Drat!

  7. I got mine from Speedway for my A axel, they seem to fit good.
