How's this for a start on a single seater coupe? (From the hot rods in the snow thread.) Ditch the air power and either stretch the nose for an engine up front, or put an I-4 and transaxle in the back! Can anyone photoshop the wheels and suspension? Gary

How on earth can that hood hold up? Speedster pickup or just an XL doodle bug? Gary

I was down at the Muscle Car Museum in Punta Gorda, FL yesterday for a car show and this interesting build was inside. I suspect it's a replica / fax to be used in something like Corky's Great American race. I thought it was great, so here are some pix. Gary

Great looking T, what is the history on it? Is the MERCER still around? Bob [IMG]

    ... I'mm impressed; Verry nice.
just one Question; I see in the end photo a 57 chevy in the back ground
should we consider this 1st photo dates from 1956?

^ I've seen this image a few times before and always wondered what that gizmo on the cowl is, a windshield frame or machine gun mount? It looks far too robust to be just a windshield frame, eh? Gary

Perhaps it’s a “Great War Aeroplane” theme rod? I mean, cats today are all convinced guys in 1949 were trying to make their Model As look like B-17s, so maybe this fella was trying to make his speedster resemble the SPAD he remembered so fondly from the Western Front?

I'm not quite sure what this thing is or weather it even qualifies as a speedster, but I think it's pretty wild. I found it amongst my wife's (deceased) best friend's photos. Her parents were married in the 20's, so this was probably one of their wild Roaring 20's friends.

Most of these pictures are just coming up as thumbnails. I'd love to see bigger pictures of that body work.

This was my wife's grandfather's speedster that he built in 1936.

    We are recreating it! IMG_20150426_0006.jpg

Does anyone sell a speedster body that could be put onto a T or A frame? Something like the Mercury bodies?

Poli-Form used to make a glass one, but it is discontinued:

Rootlieb makes bodies for T's and A's, but they are the more open style bodies:

There may be others available as well, but I am not aware of any.

Here is an awesome T racer that I saw at a vintage race car event held at Darlington Speedway several years ago.
