I have those and I had a small plate welded on the bottom so I could bolt them on, I'll post a pic in the morning.

I've used dozens of them, welded on. Have had no problems. Just make sure you get them on the proper side.

The mechanic's way, bolts, as it with most fixtures/brackets connected to the frame.

Make a suitable flange plate, then weld the headlight mounts to the flange plate.
Easy weld on the bench and then they can be mounted when and where you want them and are removable if necessary.

I have to admit, I really like the look of these shock mounts,... but I am a little leery of welding or bolting them to the frame,... Using the old F-1 mounts we always had to weld a 3/16' fish plate to the inside of the frame rail,... or box the area and weld tubing through where the bolts went through,.. so it would be in a double shear.

Has anybody ran these P&J Shock/Headlight mounts for any length of time,.. with no fatigue to the frame rails ? ,... I would really like to know.

You know Harms Way, It might be a bit off topic with this, but I have wondered how these would fare with a small "lightbar" or nerf connecting them. That would go double for the F-1 mounts I have on my roadster pickup. It would seem to reduce the side load that would kill the lower attachment points whether welded or bolted.

Here are mine on a 33 roadster. I welded them to a stock P&J shock plate and bolted them on. I don't think I knew there was a right and left side. Mine point downward to the front and the 682-C lights look good on the stands.
