Does anyone have a pic of these brakes on an actual car? I have searched High and low but can only find catalog pics. Anybody have any experience with them? I'm building a 28 A Sedan and the front wheels are 15" wheel vintiques so I'm a little squeezed for space and am not going to be running fenders.
FWIW I like the finned look and had them on my 5W for a few years, both with steel wheels and Rocket Solids.
Here's a pic of mine. What exactly are you trying to figure out? Mine has a 1/4 spacer between the spindle and the mount, moving the caliper mount / disc cover outwards. This was necessary to centre the caliper on the disc. My setup is a bit of a missmash of parts, the hubs and rotors are Magnum Axle. All works well though. The extended top spindle mounts are to mount cycle fenders, which I've never made never mind fitted! A brief nod to legal requirements here! The wheel is a 15" Real Rodder slot. Chris
Just found this older thread. I want to put this brake setup on my 32 after years of running drums. I'm trying to figure out if I can with my spindles. The picture is older.
Going to need some round back spindles (37-41) unless they’ve changed the design in the last couple years. FYI, I’m running them on my Tudor build. Boy do they need a little polish after 5,000 miles this past summer. . .
Roadster Boy: What you show in your above picture is a Buick drum for a drum brake system. Has nothing to do with disc's.
I have the super stoppers as pictured above. This is before, as built by @krylon32 for a customer in 2006. This is after. I used a '40 Ford backing plate, trimmed to accommodate the Willwood polished caliper using the Willwood caliper bracket below to replace the round polished caliper bracket. The drum I used are faux Buick drums. https://cdn4.volusion.store/tqprk-sdvea/v/vspfiles/photos/SOC-62027-2T.jpg https://www.roadstersupply.com/Buick-Style-Drum-Covers-Plain-p/soc-62027.htm
