PETROLIANA

Discussion in 'The Antiquated' started by HOTRODPRIMER, Sep 23, 2023.

  1. Petroliana is a category of collectibles that is related to gas stations or the petroleum industry. Petroliana memorabilia include items such as old gas pumps, fuel advertisements, enamel or tin signs, oil cans and tins, and road maps.

Most of us have collected some or all of the items listed, let's see what you have collected.

I seem to have a obsession with the tall old bottles.

IMG_0546.jpeg Lube dispenser is not an antique, but I made it to resemble one. The hand cart is an antique.

I recently bid on 2 different lots for old signs from a auto shop going out of business.

There was about 10 signs in a lot I bid $350 on...but they sold for over $1000. I wish I would have had the forsight to collect old auto signs years ago...

I have a oil dispenser very similar to this one, (PIX) and I need some parts for it, (stopped pumping) (pix). Need the leather tear drop stopper and the (leather) diaphragm and brass spider ring. Any suggestions??

  14. For all the Shell collectors on here. Picked this up cheap the other day. Shell Oil Zippo magnifying glass. Made by Zippo, looks like a Zippo, but it actually has two magnifying lenses inside the case. Haven’t seen another one like it before.

  18. Those magnifying lenses help you identify why the ag chemicals listed didn’t work.
