wildfire...and all who gave such great info.....
    I got some 35 spokes,I will lower the ride height,keep the fenders,I have a 350 and a
t-5 trans,40 rear, and 40 front, thats the plan for now, because thats what is laying in my garage.I am for sure sticking with the t-5 as I have one in my 29 roadster that I finished building in january, and it is great.Engine could change but not sure.So What do you guys think about keeping the spares in the fenders???thanks for all the great help and ideas. Here is a pic of me ,my pops and my two girls, with all the recent project going on right now.....
you can check out the builds on my web site, under the blog section.SPERLINGBUILT.COM

  2. I say..do NOT put a SBC in it.Anything but that.Go with dual sidemounts and a fold down windshield, dropped axle in front.Flathead with 5 speed and no hood sides. But hey, everyone is different

Thanks for the responces guys...didnt mean to hijack the thread though! Heres what I have to work with...not much but for $200. what do ya expect eh! Probably wont touch it for a couple of years, just gonna start gathering pieces for it...working on getting a 47 Ford p/u project truck with a r/b flatty in it ,in exchange for some body work...if it comes together I may keep the flatty trans and rear for the A project. It came with a 2nd cowl and doors as well, may do some patching on the body next year and start to de-rust it .

This is my current project. I thought it would be on the road this spring, but you know how it goes. Hopefully by next spring!

I'm running a 283, turbo 350, and 8 inch in it. It's very basic, but should be a blast to run around in! :D

  9. This is one of my some day soon projects. A little different than most of the phaetons that's been shown so far. But it should make for a cool little phaeton very similar to a 30-31 A, except this is another one of my early Pontiacs. A 1930 Pontiac phaeton, and yes it will be rodded. Probably do it full fendered and low but pretty much resto-rod as these phaeton had class all to themselves. Won't do any Easter-egg colors-something traditional with bias WW on metal spokes. Mama is after me to build this one so it may be coming up sooner than later.

looks like u got 2 that are fenderless. I wouldn't change a great car like that.

Give it a rake, maybe wide 5 or 16 17'' wires if u want to change it up....

    Flathead 4,8, or Y block....lincoln,ford,or merc....

    pinto also fits in there

tanoue cover, raked windsheild, if u gots to..

Here is a picture from about 40 years ago, from the land of the Abo. V8's were $250 and the A bone was$100. All were in running condition!!!

I found an interior shot of that '34... it's gonna help when I get around to building up my cowl and dash on my sedan-turned-tub.

Here are some pictures of some phaetons, the green '32 is the famous Dick Scritchfield tub when it was still in the Australian bush. The '31 is one I had about 15 years ago. The '29 is just a nice car I photograph at a rod run. The '29 roadster has an extended cab that was converted to a tub.

    Dirty:),

I belive that it was much earlier. I think there are Model A Phaetons, and I know there are 33/34 Phaetons.

  23. This one really has my attention...So much flavor.

Yes, you're right, just finished looking it up. In the process of correcting myself I was amazed at how many different Model A body styles there were. There was even a two window four door, never seen one of those.

Not your average build. But this is what i built about 10 year ago and is how it sits to this day . I hope yours does not take as long.
