Made a bit of progress on my '29 Phaeton project...

Finally got the chassis together to make the car a roller...with wide whites and '41 wheels. Found an original dash rail and '29 windshield stanchions.

My son and I spent most of the afternoon bolting the body to the frame and getting the it shimmed so the doors will open without a struggle.

There's a couple of body panels to replace...they maybe get it on the road early next year.

Wow, I like your car. If I get to build another car for myself, a phaeton will be at the top of my list.

If it ends up looking like Jakes, it will be great.....it's off to a good start. I'd chop the windshield 2", and lay back the windshield posts a little. Love those tubs!

The look of Jake's tub...without the magazine pic's...was what I was after.

Still looking for a good windshield frame...won't chop the posts till I find one.

I love this. I plan to turn my rpu into a phaeton some day. I keep looking for a decently priced back half but no luck so far. I may make it a 2 dr tub if I can't find one. I saw Jake's tub back in the day at Pleasanton and it really scarred me for life. I should have built it in the first place. Good job. You should get a lot of smiles driving that. I know I would.

As I recall, Jake set his phaeton up for a flathead originally, but ran a sbc instead. I am going to be working on my 28 phaeton project this winter and can't decide which way to go on the drive train. Which way are you going to go?

I have a '65 283 with the parts for a tri-power setup, waiting on an engine stand...might go that direction.
