I have been looking for about 6 months now and one pops up 45 minutes away from home. Since I haven't seen any early Caddy LaSalles done, since the 80's, I wanted to Hot Rod one out really bad. Ready to put a newer V8, Bag it and WWWs. The 'B' pillers on the LaSalle is so perfect I don't think it will need the chop but we will see. Also, the doors shut with my fingers......ohhhhhhhh. Great condition for my next project, glad to get it home today.

Got to love the flatbed pictures. And yes my girlfriend asked me, "why are you washing that THING". She said the same thing when I brought the 57 home, and that was in worse condition.

What a sexy body, that front clip is one of my fave's.
    Looks like a killer start.
Love the script on the rear bumper, and those overriders are evil looking.

    Bag it
    WWWs
and a lot of detailed Kustom/Hod Rod stuff. ive been thinking, saving pictures, and drawing for 6 months about this car so Im ready.
Think I am not chopping. The already slanted 'B'pillar and that the doors close with my finger with perfect gaps........hard to chop, but that could change.

Yep, the ft sheet metal will appear much longer if you lower the lid.

Yea, I agree. The more I look at it no chop. Never thought I would say that. Also the doors and B pillar are too perfect.

I took off the whole front end today after work. Interior and rear tomorrow.

Anyone need a flathead/tranny? That will be next. Sounds like a HAMB donation/auction to me.

A friend of mine has a '40 like yours and he has the qtr windows filled in. It looks kool. He drives it to Bob's in Toluca Lake sometimes. KNUX!

  28. A little tasteful dechroming, the right stance and that could look real cool. Yeah, some '53 Caddy sombreros, WWWs, spotlights, oxblood and bone leatherette interior with chrome window frames, '55 Caddy steering wheel and an oldtime phone reciever tuned to the radio. Painted black or deep maroon.

But that's how I'd do it. I can't wait to see what you do with it.

I haven't drawn that bodystyle chopped, but this 1940 Buick have some similarities in design.
