Finkadelphia. It's being put on by the Professor of HotRod Hoedown fame. It's a revival of his old spring show Rock'n'Rods only with a focus on a swapmeet too. I'll be there in the Chevy truck, godwilling. I don't know how she's gonna do on the highway and over a bridge.
I'm probably going to Flemmings on Saturday and Atco Old Time Drags on Sunday(sorry Mom). Both rain dates from last weekends rain. Oh wait, do they have rain dates for the rain dates???? F*&^*n' rain SUCKS!!!
NO.......Fleming's *Wheels of May* event was held last Saturday (May 2nd)...there is no rain date planned as far as I know......I was there most of the day.....it is over for this year......it didn't rain last Saturday here... http://www.flemingshows.com/WHEELSOFMAY.html See you at ATCO Modifiers on Sunday, May 10th........ Brucie
You guys really should try to make it up there, it's going to help the Professor decide whether to do a spring show again or not, since he's only be doing HRHD in the fall for the past couple years. As far as Atco goes on Sunday, I heard it's nothing but a bunch of muscle cars since the Modifiers weren't getting enough turnout. They had to up the year cap to -70 and older, and that gave all the camaros and mustangs the chance to race.
Joe.... here's Saturday's forecast from the Weather Underground: Saturday Partly sunny in the morning...then becoming mostly cloudy. A chance of showers or thunderstorms. Highs in the mid 70s. South winds around 5 mph...becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of rain 50 percent. » ZIP Code Detail Looks like the Perfessor has a good chance to have a decent day.......still a bit *iffy* As far as the Modifier's gig goes, you are right about the drag racing being mostly Chevelles, Camaros, Mustangs, Mopars, etc. However, they do get a contingent of old dragsters and altereds, etc that run against each other like the old days.....pretty entertaining really.......the muscle cars are kind of boring, but that gives you a chance to cruise the swap meet where I *always* find some good buys each meet......real guys selling real car parts......not the Chinese tool dealers, lawn mowers, puppets, and hand soap that you find in the bigger swaps lately......... The car show draws about 2-300 cars I would guess (could be wrong...someone from the Modifiers can correct me)...most of the cars are pretty traditional, although there are a lot of *street rods* and muscle cars.......it's still pretty enjoyable.......you get to see a lot of folks that you might not have seen all winter....... I enjoy it and hope that I can get my car back on the road in time for Sunday.... Brucie
there is a show in Wilmington to benefit the local Animal Shelter I was considering going to but I heard it's a ratrod fest so maybe I'll hit up Atco instead.
I was gonna go because we're (my girl and I) are huge supporters of the ASPCA, shelters, etc. Good deed kinda thing.
