Hey everyone! My name is Brian, I'm 27 years old and live in Phoenix, AZ. I've been a lurker of the gospel for about 5 years now. I know a few guys on here but just have never got around to pitchin' in myself. Any how I'm a parts salesman at one of the major, billet happy, street rod parts suppliers. Don't hold that against me, I'm a traditional hot rod and custom guy at heart, it's a good job and keeps me in the know with all types of rod info. I own a 1953 Ford pickup that is my daily driver. I've had the truck since I was 14 and have touched every bolt on it. I've also had lots of help from my pops and some good friends. It started life as a long bed and I shortened it to half ton specs, it has a modern suspension up front, with a GM 350/350 combo (although not traditional these make it a great driver). The outside is still in progress but it's heading in the cl***ic direction, I'm really aiming for a late 50's mild custom look with chrome reverse steelies with a spider type center, WWW tires, slammed with a mild rake, lake pipes etc. I've studied many R&C mags from this era and am taking little cues from each truck I find. I'm also currently driving a buddy of mines' 54 Merc mild custom which has all the original running gear, is lowered with Jamco suspension, and currently has a blue tinted primer covering. I hope I can contribute to the H.A.M.B because I already know I can learn a lot! Hope the intro wasn't too long but wanted to be thorough Thanks!
Brian- Sounds like we have similar trucks and similar tastes. Come to the Phoenix So Cal Speed shop open house on 3/31. I take my F-100 to the Pavillions and it is a total hit- I almost feel bad for the $70k of billet boys who's cars get ignored. Almost.
