Im gonna be in Phoenix the weekend of the 9-11 of April... I guees it 'happens' to be the same weekend of VLV in Vegas(?)... So, my question is, is there gonna be anything worth attending this weekend in Phoenix? The last time I was there, we hit up the "Pavillions" mall... I guess there is a car show there every weekend? All I remember is a LOT of motorcycles.

I'm helping a friend of mine move into his new house.. he is 'almost' as big a car buff as I am... If nothing is happening, we will just barbecue and get ****ty drunk.. if something IS happening, we may just get ****ty drunk and get a ride there... OK, maybe not.

Anyways, is next weekend gonna be dead, or what?

You gonna be here Friday evening? Thats when a bunch of us HAMB types go to a lil' car show at 35th ave and Northern. Not a whole buncha HAMB kinda cars but pretty cool and laidback. Let us know when you get into town.

Ditto what Jesse said, and Pavillions is always going on, most of the cars that usually go there won't be affected by VLV going on. I've been in Texas for the Roundup and helping OldCarPilot move, so I won't be going to VLV, I should be at Pavillions on Saturday.

You're in luck, lowcheif, on Sat. 4/10 is the Central Ave. cruise. This is a pretty big deal that only happens twice a year, once in the fall and once in the spring.

Central Ave used to be the big place in PHX to cruise until cruising was outlawed and the man shut things down about 20 years ago or so.

Now, twice a year, thousands of folks with all types of cars gather in the Park Central Mall parking lot (Central Ave & Earl) and cruise up and down Central Ave. between Mcdowell on the south end and and Camelback on the north end. It's a non sanctioned, sort of outlaw event, but the local heat kinda turns a blind eye to things as long as the foolishness doesn't get to far out of hand.

Like I said before, this is a big deal, you'll be sorry if you miss it. Unfortunateley, I'll be in Vegas for VLV, so I will miss it. Oh well, life is full of choices.

What time of day does the Central Cruise go on?

Jerry should be there, unless the Dead are playing within a thousand miles of here.

I'll be there too, so bring your br*** knuckles and your switchblades. Just don't touch my hair.

Roadsters, the cruise really gets rolling about 4:30 or 5:00pm. Lotsa chuckleheads will show up at noon or earlier to get "good" (aye, aye, aye...it's a cruise, who cares about parking, get out there and drive.) parking spaces at Park Central.

P.S. Jerry will also be in Vegas.

Sigfried and Roy stopped racing at El Mirage? What happened to their Sunbeam Tiger? I heard it was pretty mean.
