Phoenix, Thanksgiving, in laws. What to do ?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by palosfv3, Nov 6, 2007.

  1. Wifey dear is draggin me down to Phoenix from 11-18 to 11-27 to see the in laws . Been to Phoenix before and did the Sedona thing and such. What kind of car things are there to do in Phoenix that can keep a guy out of trouble ? :D

  2. Go to the Saturday night cruise or show or whatever it's called at the Pavilions - Scottsdale I think. Someone from there will probably get on here. Everything seems mto show up there.

Yes the Good guys that weekend and on friday night hit up the car show on 35th avenue and Northern on nw corner. Across the street is a small lil punk/rockabilly hole in the wall called the Rogue West. There is T.T Roadhouse in scottsdale too. www.azrockabilly.net if it is under construction go to the myspace i am sure something is on there for shows etc. also look up phoenixnewtimes.com and look up club red or the red owl. Thursday night at the Blooze bar off hwy 51 and cactus there is a lil show..think its "rockabilly night" lol...just a few ideas. or pm me just before you get here and I can send you more info...or you can sign in to our board for more shows. sinnersaz.com and sign up on the board. free...click on center picture it will take you to options for pics or the board.

The Cruise at 83rd Ave & Union Hills at the Safeway center sometimes draws 300-400 cars, its on Saturday 6PM to ? also go to www.cruisinarizona.com it lists all the happenings there.

I'll use a "HIGHLIGHTER" to mark your post because "CHRISTIE'S" opinion is different. There are plenty of "BABES" with great "SKIN" in the valley of the sun!

    :D

The Scottsdale Pavillions is an awesome car show for the price. (free) It's billed as the largest weekly car show in the nation. I could maybe see that. Lots of pretty cars owned by guys who have no idea how the car got put together because they bought it that way. It's still a great way to kill an evening, I go about once a month.

If you have time, there are some really good junk yards down here to see stuff you won't buy. I was at a junk yard in Casa Grand that still has a 50's hemi sitting stashed away in the back of school bus a few weeks ago (they used to have a 68 "Gourney" Cougar there too). Another in Maricopa has tons of old iron and another in Phoenix on Happy Valley road. They have tons of parts but want an arm and a leg for them. All of the above will let you wander freely in the junk yards.

  11. Went to Dynamite Daves several years ago. Neat place. Does he still have the 1930's art deco car hauler. My wife threaten to kill me if I tried to buy it from him. Maybe I could buy it for her for Christmas????
Sadly I wont make the Goodguys on Sunday . I think the plane gets in at 3:00 pm.

Will make it to one of the Saturday nite cruises. Make sure you have your HAMB hat on . Anything going on during the week???

There isn't a whole lot of car excitement and it probably won't keep you out of trouble...but it is one of my favorite stops when in AZ....
