Didn't the builders of "Mr. T" build one in the late 80's? I sold them the cab and if memory serves me correctly they painted it yellow and was in HR magazine. Do not remember if it was on 32 rails though. Rod
don't mean to hijack thread , but is/will the frame have to be pinched for this cab? or I guess I should say should it be pinched?
I know this might be a stupid question, but here goes; Is it possible that this is a Truck cab? Like a TT or AA ? And is it possible that other manufactures build them for there truck? In Danmark, and most of Europe, it was the way to do it, cars came with a body, Pick ups could come with or with out back body and truck 3 ton and bigger was delivered as a cowl build. Then lokal manufactures build the cab. But most where the same, just in three different width, that match the cowl and frame width. The reason for this long and other stupid post, is that I look for a cab for my 29 Chevy AB, missing its body. And I found alot of 28-33 Chevy Pick ups with almost the same cab. The national and international, AB and others. I like the car in question, but the tires change the car out of my favorit Tine frame. Not how I would do it, but good non the less.
The AA cab and the pickup cab were the same cab. The TT cab was basicly the same from 23-27. Before that the cabs all home built or Coachbuilt after market. Rod
Kinda counterproductive to the look but it must be noted that it doesn't look finalized either. "I need my mirror boy"
Well, thanks to who ever dug the thread out again as I missed it the first go around and that does have the potential to be one cool little truck when it is finished. I agree that the spreader bar needs to go into the swap meet box and think the wheels either need to be pulled for something a bit thinner or the truck needs an engine brutal enough to make the wheels look proper on that truck.
Your welcome. But diggin up or puttin BTTT is only a smidge of the work. It's Larry's baby. "I need my mirror boy"
nope, I just stored it for him. It eventually got parted out and he made a small fortune off it. I got $500 for helping to sell it all.
That's to bad as I was hoping it got finished and was looking forward to seeing it on the road. I like it.....
Well here are the pics of mine. It is what some would relegate to yard art as it is rusted beyond what anybody in their right mind would want to tackle. But who says I am in my right mind? I chopped it 6" and still need to weld it back together. I might just make new rear cab corners because they are simple. I cut the header down 2 1/2" and took 3 1/2" out of the windshield area. When I cut the doors I removed the upper hinge and pie cut to make the door top fit right (something a lot of people don't take into consideration is the amount of taper on an A door and window channel) It is a bummer that that truck got parted out but maybe it will live on in another form. I will start my own thread on this. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/29-rusty-crusty-pickup-cab-chop.957035/ Jim Ford
I think it would have been a cool project too, but this thread should give some inspiration to create other builds.
