Sharp told me it was last seen under a car port in So Cal in the early 70s.

    Hey,

Damn shame! Someone needs to build a Miss San Pedro II, in the first iteration, not the four eyed freek!
Does anyone have details on what her interior looked like? "Maybe" George could quote the correct bleu & lower metalic colour?

Some of the coolest parts opf these pictures are in the backround. All the unfinished, in-progress backround shots of soon to be monumental cars are awesome.

I belive this is Carl Caspers Chevy. The pix of the Aztec in the process of building and restoring were great to see. Seeing the painted restoration with out the trim and scallops really shows how important these items are to the overall design. Great job Barry.

So I may be completely wrong here, but is that a younger Mr. Barris in the yellow jacket to the left?

Here's a couple more shots of of Dave Bugarin's "Miss San Pedro". It looks like there were a few dents in the right 1/4 and skirt area. I was told that he had the car customized when he had the money and drove it daily when it wasn't in the bodyshop. In the color pic it looks like caster wheels under the rear bumper that kept the bumper from dragging off in steep driveways. He had also upgraded his hubcaps with a few more flipper bars.
I got these pictures from Greg Sharp in the early seventies.

just got your new issue. i love that 4 door!

  18. This just proves what I always have said.... WHEN DONE RIGHT look how good that 51 window looks on a 51 merc. I do not see how ANYBODY can look at this sled and say " it would look better with a 1950 window".

  19. They look good in hardtopped mercs. I have seen very few if any that look as good with the quarter windows as the tip of the rear window is always below the level of the the quarter window which to my eye interupts the flow.

The scallops on the color picture are horrible!!!

Thanks Rod for those fantastic photos of the Dave Bugarin Mercury. That side profile shot is so great, it really shows the proportions on that car. And how small the side windows really are.

How about showing some more of you collection TwoChops.
Even if they are whole page photos of your albums that would be great.
The more photos shared here, the more info will come available and the better the history will be saved for the future.
You started this great thread three years ago and recently opened it again. I think its now time for you to share a bit more of your collection, for everybody to enjoy.

I agree totally.00Mack since you asked lets see some more of your pic's.Thanks.

  26. I love the flow the Bugarin chop. That back window looks a LOT flatter than mine in profile, though. I had read that Mercury Charlie bought a bunch of back windows for Nadine to pick out the flattest one. I guess there was/is a fair amount of variation on the profile curvature of those windows. Even still, the Bugarin window is REALLY flat. Makes me wonder if the window was actually plexi.....?

I was over at a friends house and he has Keith Dean(Dick Deans son)helping him with a chop and he told me there is a variation in the rear glass, especially the 2dr and 4dr factory glass. He told me some people use the 4dr glass and it doesn't lay as flat?

Does anyone know who owned this car ? The barber down the street showed me pics of his 54 Ford from an old 1950's Hot Rod magazine about a year ago. He said he still has the car. This shure looks like the car.
