I'm looking for some photos of '46-'48 Ford coupes. I only have this one, taken at the Broken Dream Kruise. It's the look I'm after but would like to see some more. And I don't wanna see none of those "pretty" cars.
Here's some I like, all from carnut.com http://autohobbypage.com/cgi-bin/02/_image.pl?/show/02/lou/nat1089.jpg http://autohobbypage.com/cgi-bin/_image.pl?/show/00/kkoa/kkoa294.jpg http://autohobbypage.com/cgi-bin/_image.pl?/show/01/lou/nat585.jpg http://autohobbypage.com/cgi-bin/_image.pl?/show/01/lou/nat018.jpg http://autohobbypage.com/cgi-bin/_image.pl?/show/01/cuse/nat318.jpg http://autohobbypage.com/cgi-bin/_image.pl?/show/01/spf/nat268.jpg http://autohobbypage.com/cgi-bin/_image.pl?/show/01/swap/swap183.jpg http://autohobbypage.com/cgi-bin/02/_image.pl?/show/02/lou/nat110.jpg http://autohobbypage.com/cgi-bin/02/_image.pl?/show/02/okc/nat246.jpg http://autohobbypage.com/cgi-bin/_image.pl?/show/nats97/nat99.jpg
boy, the UNchopped ones actually look best. i like the first one and the last one the best of those. the last three have things about them I like. this one gonna be next in line when the Chevy is done Donzie??
I'm with Mike on this one. (the 1st one had me droolin' ) The red one is what I think of if I were to build one. The front bumper on the ground and the rear really close. The beauty of it is it's simplicity. Nothing flashy just saome attention to detail and you have a winner. If you want to get a little flashy fo it with paint color (maybe a candy or metallic) as it is hard to improve the lines on these cars.(IMHO) My $.02 Eric PS The car didn't happen to come with an extra dash did it? Have been considering using one in the Stude. (need to see how it would fit) ============================================================ '49 Studebaker P/U
Donzie, See if you can find a picture of Mrg***er's '46, its kinda not pretty but still cool looking. HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! I just got your phone message, I'll give you a call later. Frank

Yeah, there's some great lookin' cars there. As much as I didn't think I'd like skirts on one (too custom looking) this one really catches my eye.
jdubbya, I'm aware that Donzie posted Mrg***ers car, I was just jerking his chain. I guess I'll have to start using smileys instead of my usual obnoxious HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was just giving you a hard time fab32. Donzie, PLEASE step away from the skirts! Just say NO! Those cars look alot better without the skirts...just my opinion -Joe
I really loved this one... <img src=http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid72/pf3334e0129b25bd64027f430c981dcf4/fb85b846.jpg> Took this picture at Denise's Hot Rods & Harleys Pig Roast this past Summer... BEAUTIFUL car...but I don't know anything about it...Denise might be able to tell ya who owns it? If I had to have a 46-47 Ford...I'd want one that looks just like that one...with a chrome or stainless grille, though...and Y-block power!
The most beautifull 46-48 Ford's is actually a 42! The 46 was just an quick update to have something to sell, after the war. Now you know why i call my self Mr42 ;-)
The 42 has a cooler looking grille...I know a local guy with a green 42 Ford and it's a neat ride! Does the 42 grille fit into the 46-47 cars??

[/ QUOTE ] I have to agree with you here . I think they look better unchopped and on the ground. I never realized how cool that body style was.Great now I want one of those too.
I'm partial to the horizontal bars myself. Hack, I agree, it needs some shiny stuff up front. I would eliminate the upper bar and leave the grille bars. Here's MrG***er's car slightly modified.
I like your changes, Donzie! (Even though I kinda dig the flames on the roof!) You gotta make i...err...well...yeah...how 'bout them EAGLES??!!! (holding hat on with both hands!!!)
The green one that Fat Hack posted from my Pig Roast belongs to my very good buddy, Jerry Moore. He built it all himself, in his home garage. Jerry is one of the guys that survived the Ford Rouge plant explosion a few years ago. Many employees died that day. He was so badly burned the hospital put him in a coma cuz the pain was so horrific. After he got out of the hospital months later, he couldn't even hold a screwdriver in his hand. While going thru therpy he built that Ford. He's been into cars his whole life. His awesome Ford is a testiment to determination and hard work thru adversity. My hats off to him, he built an awesome ride even if it's not a convert! Oh yeah, it's got a Ford power train in it too.
Thanks for the background info on that car and it's owner, Denise. Cool that he survived that ordeal and came back to build such a nice ride as part of his therapy! Here ya go, Donzie...couldn't resist!!
IS THAT PINK?!?! Ah, the '80s live. Add some Aqua graphics and you've got something. I have to agree with some of you, I don't care as much for the chopped ones, unless they're a full-on custom.
