Just trying to get a grasp on what people are doing with them and get some ideas. Been thinking scallops but I just thing theirs too much stainless for that. anyways...i've been searchin and searchin and I've found like...4. haa. Thanks for the help.

Hey, Her is a link to the Swedish bootjacks(custom car club) they have 2 real cool caddy customs the 50s http://www.bootjacks.se/start1.htm
I've got a 56 four door hardtop that I was planning to learn to do custom work on... but I got working on other ****. Save the trim that runs down the length of the car into the rear door, and all of the door and window trim... and I dont know if your year has it, but there was the stainless strip that ran along the top of the quarters into the taillight... they look way cooler with that taken off, in my opinion. I got a picture of this really nice 55 sedan at Paso this past year, really well done. The other flat black 55 was there as well... I think it was in old school rods or one of those magazines a few months ago... I think that Rockabilly Jay guy built it. It was hard to get a real good shot of it with how packed the cars were. One of those magazines did a buildup of another 55 or 56 I think as well...slammed and pearl white I think. Pretty nice car. I think they look way better finished with good paint... something about a flat black or primered Cadillac doesn't sit well with me... it's almost like it deserves better than that. It's like a beautiful **** star in a pair of dirty overalls.
Tom.... I like the paint... Very nice. HoldFast, here is mine. Lowered, nosed, decked, tuck & roll. 1950 Cadillac He**** engine.
cool trick is to weld up the holes in the grill bars ditching the vertical ones for a floating grill bar
Its a '51 As you can see '51 and '52 are very much alike. I have seen a bunch of 4 door custom caddys and they can look like a million bucks. The key is to find the most complete one possible becuase parts are $$$.
no joke. I got some pricing on parts...rediculous. $250 for the aircleaner..>I have one. $195 for a new generator..I should have an extra one. $300 for the side piece of stainless for the p***enger side. Because of that I'm probably just gonna fill both sides and shave the rear door handles as well. I didn't want to do it cause the car is so complete but damn dude. Luckily this car is very complete. Even has the original spare in it. Got the skirts and the visor. All the gl*** knobs. Radio still works. Bought the only parts I don't have are the one piece of stainless. One front blinker lense. the stainless hub caps.
i made a killing on ebay with the parts i shaved off my caddy old emblems with the v $85 hood flying goddess with center trim $100 door handles and key $65 vertical grill bars stainless $200 shave it and sell the parts
Also check out Don's hotrod photo site... He has a good number of them mixed in with the show stuff... Hope you have DSL though...
Hey Holdfast, I've got a 53 4 dr also. Yours is in a LOT better shape than mine. Keep us posted on your updates.
