There are an indeterminate amount of HAMBers lurking amidst the slot machines and ****s tables of Sin City, and a few of us (@ALLDONE and @douglasb, and one other whose handle I cannot remember) were able to peel ourselves away from our other vices in order to enjoy a beautiful drive down to the historic town of Blue Diamond, NV this weekend for an informal get-together. The theme for this weekend was "quality over quan***y."

Things went well; I have a failing radiator cap gasket which burped a little rusty water out once we hit the highway, which is why you all get to enjoy my amateurish photos in B&W instead of the usual color. Other than that, the stock banger did 50-60 the whole way down.

I have no experience at all in setting up events, but this was fun and there will be more.

Thanks again it was fun. Looking forward to the next one. Hopefully I'll have a car done for that one. Doug

this is what I miss most about the ol days when my wife and I road harleys... the poker runs and such...where you actually rode around to different destinations.. and ended up at at the get together...getting up at crack of dawn to get a good parking spot and sitting all day gets old quick...

Agreed. Charleston could be another good destination once the lodge gets rebuilt...

you are doing rod runs incorrectly. you get there when you get there, try to park in the shade, and only sit at your car when you are eating lunch. the rest of the time is walking, looking at cars, taking pictures and chatting it up with people.
