PHOTOS: GoodGuys DEL MAR ROAD TRIP!!!! Cool STOPS and TONS of PHOTOS!!

Hemi and I decided to drive to Del Mar this year. We went along on the cruise that was hosted by Goodguys. There were probably about 30 or so cars that went. We stopped and saw some bitchin' personal collections, an amazing museum and a couple shops.

Here are some miscellaneous photos from the trip that are in no particular order.

Then a TON of them from the Del Mar event. More in the July Gazette. I'll also be putting my New Zealand trip in that issue.

We drove Gary's '47 Cadillac because the Starliner wasn't ready yet.

The hotel in Santa Barbara. Right on the beach.




The Nethercutt Museum makes Blackhawk look like Kmart. Literally over a billion dollar collection. I'm still amazed.

I want this whole collection. There had to have been at least 1000 of them. Sorry about the blurry shots - it was dark.







Next stop - Hollywood Hot Rods. Troy and his crew were working on some amazing projects.


This started life as a 2-door sedan.

 

That red white and blue coupe has a funny grill on it.....thats weird is that a midget race car?

In Del Mar Brandon and I got to stay at a super swanky resort. They furnished us with a free room because they fill up with Goodguys participants each year. It was pretty rough. I mean the slippers were one size too small and the 18th green was almost 20 feet away. I really need it to be around 15 feet. We suffered through it.

Don Prudhomme was the Hot Rod Hero for the weekend and brought out a couple funny looking cars.






Evel and his lady missed the Round-Up so they decided to hit Del Mar.


Even Germ was there. He didn't want his picture taken though.

Ryan flew in for the day. He missed part of the Round-Up to hit Del Mar and the Dungeons & Dragons convention.








Evel's other ride. This is what kept him from getting the coupe done for LSRU.

 

This is some crazy shit. These bees were literally trying to make a hive out of these chairs. By the time the bee wranglers arrived there was already wax on them. Creepy!
