  19. Looks to be taken at the indoor drags in Chicago in the early 60's?

Charlie that pic says 1963...I just did a search and low and behold there is a thread by Hamber JohnnyCash including that pic...that is just wild the stuff that was entertainment back in the day...I know cars like that Deuce could have been had fairly cheaply then but its still a surprise to see it reduced to near demo derby stuff...

    Darn Hotrod Hooligans!

Remember the hotrod, teenager related car movies of the 50s, 60s, and 70s?

That's where it a all started...

That last pic hurts to look at. Anyone want to venture a guess as to when that was taken? Seems like those cars were pretty in demand even by the early 50's, surprised to see a couple just laying out like that, looking relatively complete and clean, although maybe they're just clean by today's standards, and no telling what body style the 33/34 is.

    Still though. Damn.

Squablow I found this yesterday in search. It is untouched as found (the photo) It looks to be a scan of a 1980ish pic. Just a guess and hey it may be someone elses clever photo manipulation or one of those nobody gets anything wrecking yard collections. Might be still as we see it yeah...damn...:(

The 32 Victoria in post #83 that's racing the Corvette was owned by Bob Dwyer of Ft Lauderdale Fl. It was a 301 with 3-2s & a 4 speed that ran 13.0s in 1958 at Amelia Earhart Dragstrip in Hialeah Fl. It raced at the first drags I ever went to @ 14 years old and was bad fast in its day. The car is presently a very nice street rod with 454 power. Bob owned & ran Precision Auto Machine and died a few years back from diabetes complications. He was a very neat guy and a good friend. The Corvette I believe was owned by the late Don Gist and was a national record holder in a stock sports class

I have seen that photo a number of times. Even on a thread here on the HAMB. Its an old photo, not a photoshop.

Your absolutely right Don. This morning I searched again to try to find out a little more on that and I did find a link to the Hamb (I am not surprised and I like to give credit where credit is due)

Ya know in a strange coincidence he used pretty darn near the same Title for the post as I did.
